Finding a good job hasn’t been easy in recent years, thanks principally to the economic slump that has recently had the economy in its grip. Employees working in grocery stores, a blood or donor sperm bank, top law firms, or family stores have all felt the tremors in the economy that have threatened to cause problems. However, there are a number of careers that are proving to be very attractive for the next year, and you would do well to consider one of the following careers if you are worried about losing your job in the near future:
Pilot – The job of a pilot has become increasingly attractive in recent years, thanks to the salary increases and the limitations placed on the number of hours you can spend physically flying. Air travel has also greatly increased in recent years, and thus the demand for pilots has also greatly increased. Not only can you get a great salary, but you can see the world at your airline’s expense.
HVAC Tech – Most people think of the average repairman as earning a low income, but you may be surprised to learn that most HVAC technicians can earn a pretty penny. This is due to the fact that their work is very specialized, and thus they charge a good deal of money for every home installation or repair visit made. The fact that hot and cold weather will always be with us is just one more indication that this is a great job to have, as you will never run out of customers.
Technical Writer – The number of companies being created every year is continually increasing, and more and more enterprises are being launched all around the country and the world. One thing that all of these companies need is a technical writer to draft their company policies, operating procedures, and work documents. So long as a single company exists in the world, there will always be a need for technical writers to create official documents.
Fitness Trainer – Most of the people in the United States – and in the rest of the world – are becoming increasingly health conscious, and more and more people are making an effort to get in shape. The body, exercise, fitness, dieting, and weight loss can be fairly complex for the average Joe to understand, and this is why fitness trainers are in such high demand. Any fitness trainer that can come up with a unique program can market it online or in local gyms, and the fitness craze of recent years makes this a very attractive career.
Translator and Interpreter – The number of languages spoken around the world numbers in the thousands, and the primary business countries of the world speak at least 5 to 10 different languages. This means that, so long as business is international, there will always be a need for someone to translate or interpret what is being said or written. There are many cushy jobs that you can get just because you speak a language well, and you may find that your grasp of two or three languages places you in high demand.
Physical Therapist – Accidents are happening on a daily basis, and modern medicine still has not progressed to the point that they have a magic cure for broken bones, back injuries, and medical disability. Thanks to that, there will be a need for physical therapists for many, many years to come. People will always need to be helped to recover from serious injuries, and thus working as a physical therapist is a great way to ensure that you always have a job.
Sales Manager – While most people see sales as a career that never really goes anywhere, you might be surprised to learn that many sales personnel and managers earn far more than you do at your cushy 9 – 5 job, and they work less hours too. Working as a sales manager can be a great way to earn a good living, especially if you have the ability to interact well with people and make a sale.
Film and Video Editor – There are hundreds of jobs that can be obtained by a film and video editor, such as editing commercials, creating videos for internet marketing, working on films, etc. Sitting at your computer editing videos is not such a bad way to earn a living after all.
These are just a few of the careers that you may want to consider getting into in this next year, as many of these careers basically guarantee you a steady stream of work once you are established.
