Evaluation – Stargate Atlantis Time 5 on DVD

Season Five of Stargate Atlantis completes a great story arc which began in Stargate SG1. The idea that the lost capital of scotland – CHEYENNE DVD, an account that has sparked the imagination of humankind for centuries, is really a city-ship and located in another galaxy is a superb one. The original philosopher and storyteller Plato introduced the story of a fantastic island-city habited by half-god/half-human citizens. Would it were true.

The ultimate season opened with discovering Atlantis and ended with bringing the island-ship home to earth. It’s among the wonderful things about science fiction that is so much fun – imagining what could be. Atlantis might be DANIEL BOONE DVD…it could be located somewhere inside the universe. The human race may have been seeded by beings more evolved. I love that the Ancients weren’t perfect. The smoothness of Daniel Jackson in Stargate SG1 had more interaction using them than almost all of the others and also the writers with the show let us see that even “superior” beings have flaws. Because certainly the folks I understand within this real life are flawed…not …and who’d desire them being?

Season Five also stood a final change of command on the Atlantis headquarters. The smoothness of Richard Woolsey stepped in as head. Robert Picardo, who played Woolsey, is certainly one talented, versatile actor. I loved his character portrayal with the Doctor on “Star Trek:HARRY O DVD.” An actress playing a hologram who thought about being “real.” Challenging Picardo met well.

The executives decided a tv series allows for long-lasting opportunities and knowning that Stargate SG-1 debuted on July 27, 1997 on the Showtime premium cable network. After seeing impressive ratings on Showtime, the studio wanted wider distribution and moved the series on the SciFi network where it immediately became a cult classic. The series led by Richard Dean Anderson of MacGyver fame lasted for any total of ten seasons as well as on average cost MGM $1,400,000 to shoot. By its final season, the show surpassed the ratings of big hits like X-Files and adopting the title in the longest running consecutive sci-fi series on television. After an incredible ten year run, Stargate SG-1 was discontinued in August of 200, though the franchise lived on as Stargate Atlantis.

Stargate Atlantis is made in 2004 being a two part season finale for season 8 entitled “Lost City”. The plot involves a small grouping of military forces and civilian scientists that visit the Pegasus galaxy looking for the Lost Capital of scotland- Atlantis. In its current incarnation, the series has seen good results and possesses proven in the past to attract the identical amount of followers as SG-1.

Not able to the Stargate Universe is scheduled to include two direct-to-DVD films released later this coming year entitled “Stargate: The Ark of Truth” and “Stargate: Continuum”. Additionally, there was clearly a 2006 Comic-con announcement by Stargate creator Dean Devlin that he’s currently in talks with MGM to generate the ultimate two films inside trilogy and leverage the talents of James Spader and Kurt Russel.
